About Us
We are a group for people who love and care about cats. 
Cat Lovers Ballarat's origins go back to 2016-17 when a community group was established by myself, Sheryl Page, for people who loved cats, to come together in a social situation and talk about cats. Donations were also collected and distributed over time to the local animal shelter and another private rescue. Pretty soon it became apparent that there were a lot of cats and kittens out in the community that needed help. A huge decision had to made on my behalf, do we continue as we are, or do we take a giant and scary leap forward into cat rescue? Cats had always been my passion and the decision was made. Cat Lovers Ballarat would become a private rescue for cats. 7 years on, we are a very different organisation, but we still maintain that strong social element from whence we began.
Founded in 2018, and based in Ballarat, Victoria, Cat Lovers Ballarat is a Registered Domestic Animal Business and a registered Non-For-Profit Organisation with strong community ties. We are a group for people who love and care about cats. We have a strong desire to improve cat welfare and to engender responsible pet ownership. We strive to improve the profile of cats, and at the same time, celebrate the wonderful positivity’s that cats bring to our lives.
We work very closely with a network of wonderful veterinarians, volunteers, and foster carers to vet work, to rehabilitate and to socialise unwanted stray cats and kittens to find loving forever homes.
